Solar dryer
- A wooden box painted black inside with a clear lid.
- Leave vents at the bottom and top for airflow.
- Place sliced vegetables, fruit or spices on mesh trays; protect from insects and dust.
Solar oven
- A box with a black tray and a glass or clear-plastic lid.
- Add foil reflectors around the sides.
- Turn it toward the sun; food cooks slowly.
Wash and slice thinly before drying; anything not fully dry will mould.
